History
The St. Albert Community Band (SACB) has been a staple in the St. Albert Arts community since 1970.
Members range in age from teens to retirees in their 80's and the group has served the community through performances
in schools, parks, Farmer's Markets, seniors' homes, and hospitals in addition to the annual Winter and
Spring concerts at the Arden Theatre. The group's service is a true reflection of the band's motto: Music is for Life!
Event
For the 2019-2020 musical season, we are preparing to mark our 50th year of bringing music to the people of St. Albert
and surrounding area with a Gala Celebration the week of May 4-10, 2020. We will bring renowned band composer,
Frank Ticheli, to St. Albert for a week long residency with St. Albert school bands and with the SACB.
This residency will culminate in a community invitational workshop/concert followed by a dinner and dance celebration.
This will include performances from the massed school honour band, St. Albert Community Band, and the Saint City Big Band.
